In 1955, the credit union was founded by our first treasurer - manager; Ethel McNeil. She asked ten town employees to deposit $5.00 each into a savings account. These dedicated members received no dividends in their weekly deposits for a long time.
Mrs. McNeil took no salary for seven years - when she began to earn a much deserved income, it was $25.00 dollars a week. It could not happen today.
Thus the credit union began with ten members and $50.00 in assets
Today - we are an million dollar institution with members.
